Primary Uplink of PBS NOC Channels Experiencing Larger than Expected Delay on Create and World.

Incident Report for Edisen Inc

Monitoring

Following the transition of the Primary Uplink of PBS NOC Channels to the Encompass facility on Thursday, July 16, larger than expected latency (up to 8 seconds) has been experienced between the World and Create National satellite and terrestrial feeds.

Per PBS NOC and Encompass, this delay will exist until the NOC transitions to LTN (Timeline TBD).

PBS has issued a post on myPBS, with a recommended recovery action of utilizing the latency adjustment in the IX Global (or Local) portal (“Latency Adjustment” field), to adjust for the latency from the new uplink location.

Please Note: For sites that have a custom Input Buffer Size configuration, please open a Support Ticket with the Orb Support Team before making a timing adjustment so a Support Team Member can confirm the correct settings are in place after the timing adjustment has been made.
